How Your Support Is Changing Lives—and Why We Need You Now

As we reflect on 2025, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible community that stands behind Spoken Outdoors. Because of your support, this past year marked meaningful growth in our mission to serve America’s Protectors—those in law enforcement, fire, EMS, and our veteran community.

In 2025, we expanded our reach, deepened our impact, and strengthened the relationships that make healing possible. Through our programs, we served more than 450 individuals, contributed over 500 volunteer hours, and built new partnerships that continue to grow our work.

Our river and fishing programs remained at the heart of this impact. From one-day healing fly fishing events across Idaho and Montana to multi-day river recovery expeditions like the Deschutes River trip, we created opportunities for first responders to step away from the demands of their roles, reconnect, and heal. Across these programs, we served 40 participants using 21 boats over 13 days on the water—an incredible increase in reach.

When tragedy struck close to home, our community came together. Following the Canfield event, Spoken Outdoors helped provide over 400 meals to local firehouses and hospitals—ensuring first responders and their families were supported when they needed it most.

Most importantly, 95% of participants reported improved well-being after their experience—proof that time outdoors, connection, and shared experience truly matter.

A Reflection from Our Board

One of our board members recently shared what Spoken Outdoors means to them:

“What Spoken Outdoors means to me—one word: Opportunity.
It is an opportunity to return some of the energy, love, and support that I have been blessed to receive.
It is an opportunity to support others who have sacrificed so much for our community.
It is an opportunity for leaders to do what is right and lead by example.
Spoken Outdoors is an opportunity to reach people who may feel like they have no options.
I am grateful to be part of such a well-run and morally sound organization.”

That word—Opportunity—captures exactly what your support makes possible.

Looking Ahead to 2026

As we step into the 2026 season, that opportunity is growing.

We already have 47 boats booked, providing river trips for 96 North Idaho-based first responders and six from Northwest Washington. The demand is real, the need is increasing, and we are committed to meeting it.

We are also honored to share that Bayshore Systems in Rathdrum, Idaho has selected Spoken Outdoors as the beneficiary of their 28th Annual Charity Golf Tournament. It is exciting to see our commitment to Service, Healing, and Hope recognized and supported by our local business community.

Your Role in What Comes Next

None of this happens without you.

Because of your support, these trips are offered at no cost to the first responders who need them. You are the reason someone gets a day of relief… a moment to breathe… a chance to reconnect.

But let’s be clear—we cannot meet the demand ahead without growing our financial support in 2026.

With 47 boats already scheduled – representing approximately $40,000 already invested – we are seeing firsthand how vital this mission has become. To continue expanding access, this program funding must be replenished. And we know there are many more first responders who need this opportunity.

Your gift today will:

  • Put more first responders on the water
  • Expand access to multi-day recovery trips
  • Strengthen connection, resilience, and long-term well-being
  • Ensure no one is turned away because of cost

At Spoken Outdoors, every dollar has purpose. It becomes time on the river, shared laughter, quiet reflection, and a renewed sense of
hope.

This is your opportunity to be part of that.

We ask you to consider making a meaningful contribution to Spoken Outdoors in 2026—whether through a one-time gift or a recurring commitment. Your support directly fuels Service, Healing, and Hope.

Together, we can continue to grow this mission—and reach those who may feel like they have no options.
