On a beautiful day in August, the Kootenai River became the backdrop for an unforgettable experience for our brave first responders. Supported by Long Drift Outfitters, Anchored Coffee Company, and Greg Moffatt Knives, the First Responder Float Trip was a day filled with excitement, camaraderie, and gratitude.

The day began early at Twin Rivers Canyon Resort, where the guides and participants gathered. The air was filled with anticipation as everyone prepared for the adventure ahead. The guides, seasoned experts in navigating the Kootenai River, ensured that everyone was equipped and ready for the journey. 

As the boats set off, the river’s serene beauty unfolded. The Kootenai River, with its crystal-clear waters and lush surroundings, provided the perfect setting for a day of fishing and relaxation. The first responders, who tirelessly serve our communities, had the opportunity to unwind and connect with nature.

Throughout the day, the participants experienced the thrill of catching fish. Over 200 fish were caught, each one adding to the excitement and joy of the day. The guides shared their expertise, helping both novice and experienced anglers make the most of their time on the river. 

Lunch was a special highlight, catered by Anchored Coffee Company. The delicious meal provided a moment for everyone to come together, share stories, and enjoy each other’s company. The sense of community and gratitude was palpable, as everyone appreciated the chance to give back to those who give so much. 

One of the most touching moments of the day was hearing the stories of the first responders. Their dedication, bravery, and resilience were evident in every word. The float trip was not just a day of fishing; it was a day of healing, connection, and appreciation. 

As the day came to an end, the participants returned to Twin Rivers Canyon Resort, tired but happy. The memories made on the Kootenai River would last a lifetime. The First Responder Float Trip was a testament to the power of community and the importance of showing gratitude to those who serve.
