Picture this: A BBQ join in San Antonio, two young warriors, brothers in arms, their destinies intertwined by fate. Growing up, side-by-side, they shared dreams and embarked on a journey that would forever alter their lives. Enlisting together, they faced the crucible of boot camp, the camaraderie of deployment, and the harsh realities of war. But destiny had more in store for them.
On a fateful day, in separate operations, both were struck down—blown up, their legs lost. Medevac’d to the same hospital, they found themselves sitting across from each other, their paths converging once again. One spoke of hope, of prosthetics that would free him from a wheelchair. The other, defiant yet vulnerable, grappled with the permanence of his injuries.
And there, the seeds of Spoken Outdoors were sown. A calling emerged—a purpose to uplift those whose sacrifices often go unnoticed. These heroes, veterans and first responders, deserve more than medals; they deserve a chance to reclaim life’s grandeur.

Fast-forward fifteen years. We’ve witnessed over 5000 injured veterans, and first responders defy their disabilities, embrace the wild, and find solace in the great outdoors. Whether casting lines into serene lakes, summiting rugged peaks, or sharing campfires under star-studded skies, they’ve discovered healing beyond medicine—a healing that transcends wounds and scars.
